PARIS — Thieves have made away with a truck loaded with Louis Vuitton leather goods with an estimated retail value of more than 400,000 euros, or around $534,600 at current exchange, French news agency AFP reported on Thursday.
Three criminals forcibly stopped the truck as it was leaving a warehouse in Croissy-Beaubourg, a town east of Paris, on Wednesday evening, the agency quoted a police official as saying.
The driver and a colleague were ordered at gunpoint to get inside the trunk of a BMW and one of the thieves drove away in the truck, which contained some 40 boxes of product. The two men were later released and the truck was found empty, AFP said.
