MILAN — Prada is dipping its toes into the see-now, buy-now discussion. Two bags that will be shown on the brand’s runway on Thursday are to be immediately available in Prada stores: the Pionnière and the Cahier bags.
The Pionnière has a sporty look, features original brass details and rounded shapes and was mainly inspired by the hunter’s game-bag, while the outsize shoulder strap was influenced by uniforms and the Army.
Inspired by ancient books, the Cahier bag shows bronze-colored metal elements reminiscent of the protective corners on old books and the use of Saffiano leather evokes hard covers, while a book spine could be seen in the upper section of the flap, usually in a contrasting color.
Starting from Friday, both bags are exclusively available at Milan’s Prada stores in Via Montenapoleone and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele; in Paris, on Avenue Montaigne and Faubourg Saint-Honoré; in London, on Old Bond Street and Sloane Street, and in New York on Broadway, Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
