Marli New York is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its first high jewelry range.
From Marli New York’s founder, creative director and chief executive officer Maral Artinian, the high jewelry range is broken up into five collections all inspired by New York City.
Called “A New York Affair,” the high jewelry line includes collections like Darli, which offers jewelry designed with floral motifs; Chance, which includes yellow gold triangular styles; Twilight, which takes inspiration from the transition from daytime to golden hour; Moonlight, which is designed with a pyramid emblem, and Lady Liberty, which is inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
“New York is a big source of inspiration for us,” Artinian said. “You see a lot of architecture and a lot of art deco and, of course, a lot of diversity and the energy. When I talk about diversity and energy, it’s seeing how women express themselves or individuals express themselves. It actually helps you a lot to visualize what kind of pieces you want to create because, at the end of the day, your product has to resonate with your consumer and they have to be able to wear it. I feel like if you design something that cannot be worn or cannot be celebrated on your body, it doesn’t translate well.”

Artinian said the high jewelry collection was three years in the making and was largely created during the pandemic in collaboration with a team of French jewelry designers. She said she was encouraged by the pandemic forcing the world to slow down, ultimately inspiring her to create styles that “reminded us that no matter what, time will pass.”
The CEO stated that the high jewelry range is a natural evolution for Marli New York that aligns with the brand’s background in innovation. Artinian herself is a third generation jeweler.
Given the range of the five high jewelry collections, Artinian anticipates the styles can be worn throughout a client’s day following her along her daily activities.
“As we move along the day, our activity changes and our mood changes and the jewelry is actually accompanying you,” Artinian said. “In many of the collections, Marli wants to accompany you in your journey.”
The launch of Marli New York’s high jewelry collection comes shortly after the brand opened its latest store in Geneva located on Rue du Rhône. Marli New York already operates out of stores in New York City, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Milan, Morocco and other areas.
“Europe is a very interesting market for us,” she said. “It’s also because it’s the middle point between the U.S. and the Middle East and we have a lot of travelers. Geneva specifically is a very diverse city and a very multinational city similar to New York. People come there from all walks of life. You have so many different nationalities there. It’s like a melting pot there, so we found similarities in terms of cultures and then, of course, to open on Rue du Rhône is a dream for any brand to be on that location because it’s one of the most iconic locations in Geneva.”
Artinian said she’s already received positive feedback from clients of the Geneva store, stating they’re excited to see a younger brand positioned next to heritage jewelry labels.
For 2025, Artinian’s strategy is to expand Marli New York’s presence in the U.S. She is currently expanding her existing partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue and is looking at opening a new stand-alone store in Miami.
