It was surreal watching this small Parisian label from a hipster part of Paris sending its fall collection down the grand marble staircase of the Palais Garnier opera house.
Yet both are opulent in their own ways, as designer Stephane Ashpool employed a raft of flashy fabrics on his signature streetwear staples. There were tie-dye dungarees; psychedelic optical prints on satin robes; mohair that looked like cotton candy for cropped pants; and a perforated nylon track suit in a daring turquoise shade. The collection, titled “Musique Therapie,” or Music Therapy, signaled Ashpool’s close ties to the music scene.
