Miramar, Rag & Bone’s hugely successful collection of trompe l’oeil denim, is not the only disruptive innovation coming from the New York City-based brand.
This fall Rag & Bone launches Infuse, a men’s denim collection that layers craftsmanship and innovation to create bold, dimensional shades. Infuse uses a proprietary multi-step denim wash technique that delivers deep, multilayered colors to denim through a complex overdyeing and finishing process.
The three-step process begins with raw denim as a canvas, followed by a combination of hand finishing and laser to give fabrics an authentic worn-in look. In the final step, Rag & Bone overdyes the garments, saturating pieces to add depths of tone and contrast.
According to Kyle Sweeney, Rag & Bone’s SVP of men’s design and merchandising, Infuse builds on the brand’s heritage while propelling it into the future.
“Denim is the foundation of Rag & Bone—our largest category, where we’ve built authority and where customers expect us to lead. Innovation here is constant because demand is constant. Washing innovation allows us to honor denim’s roots while reimagining its future. In a competitive market, it defines what denim can be: authentic, bold, modern, and distinctly Rag & Bone,” he said.
To bring Infuse to the market, Rag & Bone leveraged its network of trusted suppliers to foster collaboration. “Our closest mill and laundry partners were integral in developing and refining Infuse washes, giving us access to the latest technology while allowing for customization that feels unique to Rag & Bone,” he said. “These relationships are built on trust and constant dialogue; they enable us to move quickly, test rigorously, and ultimately bring truly original product to market.”
Fabric choice also played a key role in developing Infuse. Premium fabrics were selected for their character. Sweeney described how designers used archival selvedge wear patterns as a blueprint, layering laser work, hand-sanding, enzymes, and natural agents with artisanal methods to achieve authentic, vintage-inspired washes.
“The balance is simple: craftsmanship at the core, enhanced by technology that delivers consistency, performance, and reduced impact,” he said.
Infuse aligns with Rag & Bone’s mission to reduce its environmental impact. Enzyme-based washes, natural dyes and laser technology that eliminates excess abrasion and waste bring are used throughout production.
“Just as important, we partner with manufacturers who share this commitment, co-developing sustainability roadmaps that advance both Rag & Bone and the broader industry,” Sweeney said, adding that the chemical supplier for this collection participates in the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero program.
The Infuse collection spans Rag & Bone’s entire fit range, from extra slim to baggy, and extends beyond jeans into denim shirts and jackets. Washes include sepia blue, ochre blue, graphite, brown black and more.
“Infuse has a look that is unmistakably Rag & Bone—lived-in, urban, and authentic, yet refined with new depth and dimension. By fusing the richness of archival selvedge washes with modern overdyes and innovative finishes, we’ve created denim that feels both heritage and forward-looking—raw in character but elevated in execution,” he said.
The collection is resonating with Rag & Bone’s retailer partners, which Sweeney said sees the collection as “clear differentiator” in a premium denim market filled with core styles. Consumers also recognize the authenticity and the innovation in the product.
“Pieces have been selling through at a high rate, and we’ve already implemented a chase strategy to meet ongoing demand,” he said. “The momentum validates the work—people are excited to see Rag & Bone leading in this space with truly original products.”
