Denim secures its place in Pre-Fall 2025 collections as brands unveil new washes, embellished details and relaxed silhouettes.
Traces of 2024’s Western trend are still present in collections, though watered down compared to the directional styles seen from Louis Vuitton.
Dark indigo denim adds a Western vibe to Cinq à Sept’s coordinates including a belted skirt and blazer adorned with lighter wash floral appliques and a bubble-hem miniskirt and a puffed-sleeve button-down top. The brand plays with light and dark contrasts with a denim suit and wide-leg jeans with a deep cuff.
Valentino taps into the country theme through styling. Fringe bags, turquoise belt buckles, quilted jackets and prairie tops with ribbon neckties add a down-home and cozy feeling to the eclectic collection. Oversized silver studs and other vintage-looking haberdashery decorate the hems of denim pieces. A pair of women’s wide-leg jeans have unfinished hems, while a denim mini skirt is trimmed with a matching ruffle.
Tanya Taylor decorated tanks with denim pockets. The pocket detail is repeated on denim midi skirts with front slits and self-belts. Stella McCarney showed a pair of jeans with a chap-inspired paneling as well.
Denim belts are part of Ferrari’s collection. The accessory is styled with men’s and women’s blue jeans with seam details and a long-sleeve denim dress.
The Italian label also added grid patterns to denim blazers and moto jackets and applied a spray-on effect to denim coordinates. Rabanne light wash denim jackets and wide-leg jeans feature a subtle crackle laser print as well.
Soft washes give Moschino’s black and indigo jeans a pillowy effect. Heart-shaped patchwork and wallet chains give the baggy and cuffed styles a nostalgic vibe. Balmain focused on medium to light washes with an aged effect.
Vintage-wash denim put a fresh spin on Brandon Maxwell’s bomber jackets. Rounded silver hardware adds a jewelry-like touch to a long denim top.
R13 chose grittier washes and dark floral prints for its jeans. Denim jackets feature double collars lined with sherpa, nodding to the 2010s.
Sparkle is a big trend in Spring/Summer 2024 and lingers into fall. Crystal-embellished red dragons snake up the sides of Roberto Cavalli’s oversized denim shirt and baggy jeans.
Silver tiles decorate a pair of black jeans from Stella McCartney. In another bold look, the sustainable designer created the illusion of one high-waisted piece by pairing a strapless denim top with a maxi skirt, both cinched by wide belts.
