Denim was an essential part of the New York Fashion Week uniform.
Fits were slim, relaxed and wide without going overboard with intense washes or exaggerated volume.
There was a strong menswear influence in women’s looks. Slim-fitting jeans with clean washes were paired with button-down shirts, check blazers and neckties. A pair of wide-leg jeans was balanced by a cropped blazer with gold military-inspired embroidery.
Outerwear in tan and caramel accented many of the denim looks, adding a richness that was one-part Aspen and one-part Upper East Side.
Coordinating jackets and jeans—especially ones with dark inky washes—were a casual but structured alternative to suiting. Triple denim also appeared with one attendee styling a light wash denim jacket and jeans with darker wash button-down shirt.
Pops of red added a fun yet classic vibe to jeans, from long coats and cropped utilitarian jackets to hints of a layered turtleneck. Animal print outerwear and furry textures set a livelier tone.
