Music Act: Lucky Brand and Dickies Launch Band Collections

From The Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson to Blink-182 and Bruce Springsteen, a parade of nostalgic music acts is on the road this summer. Two new collections tap into these multi-generational fandoms.

Lucky Brand teamed with the Grateful Dead for a 20-piece men’s and women’s collection of licensed graphic T-shirts, denim, dresses, tops and accessories.

“The legendary band is one of the world’s most treasured musical and social phenomena and has cultivated a dedicated and enthusiastic ‘super-fan’ following which spans several generations known as Deadheads,” Lucky Brand stated. Dead & Company, a spin-off group featuring several former Grateful Dead members with John Mayer on vocals, is performing the Sphere in Las Vegas through July.

The collection draws inspiration from the rock band’s loyal Dead Head following. Key denim pieces include a unisex “Steal Your Face” jacket with lasered artwork, men’s loose shorts decorated with Grateful Dead patches and women’s low-rise shorts and shortalls also decorated with patches.

Other nods to the band are more subtle. A midi floral print dress and eyelet top also feature the Grateful Dead’s iconic dancing bears. A men’s camp shirt combines paisley prints with the band’s skull logo. Tees have vintage-inspired graphics and accessories span hats, pins and totes.

Lucky Brand frequently introduces music-themed collections, previously offering Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones products. In April it released a Grateful Dead-coded cannabis-themed collection for 4/20. This is the first collection with Grateful Dead, however.

The Lucky Brand x Grateful Dead collection is available now on Lucky Brand’s website and in select Lucky Brand stores. THe line retails for $14.50-$39.50.

Dickies teamed with another touring band, Green Day.

The co-branded capsule celebrates the 30th anniversary of the pop-punk band’s album “Dookie.” It also pays homage to the hard-working Green Day touring crew that supports from behind the scenes, Dickies stated.

The collection includes Dickies’ iconic workwear staples like the Eisenhower jacket, long-sleeve coveralls and hoodies, with exclusive designs inspired by Dookie’s album art.

The collection is available on Dickies and Green Day’s websites. The collection is also being worn by the crew as the band travels across the U.S. and Europe this summer for “The Savoirs Tour.”
