Loose Threads: Ralph Lauren, Levi’s and Blaumann Jeanshosen

Here’s a quick roundup of the latest news from leading denim brands.

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren debuted Patchwork Americana, a collection that reimagines the heritage brand’s iconic patchwork motif, exclusively at Neiman Marcus. The first-ever exclusive collection for the luxury retailer features 52-piece that span men’s, women’s and kids.

A palette of rich blues and creams defines the men’s range, which includes a tonal palm leaf jacquard jacket, a silk-blend cardigan, the flag sweater and a blue Japanese cotton chambray suit. Pearl-beaded floral-etched denim pieces are among the highlights for women. Patchwork chambray and Ralph Lauren’s iconic American flag sweater are part of the children’s assortment.

Blaumann Jeanshosen

German brand Blaumann Jeanshosen teamed with Long John to co-design a limited-edition shirt.

Handcrafted in Germany with 8.5 oz. rigid denim from Candiani Denim, the Long John x Blaumann Jeanshosen denim shirt is accented with deadstock ripstop army fabric with U.S. Woodland camouflage. The ripstop is applied to the shirt’s pointed Western yoke, collar and chest flaps.

The shirt also features the “Long John Lucky Golden Button” logo, which pays tribute to the gold miners of mid-1800s California. Each one of the 50 shirts are numbered.

Long John has previously partnered with Turkish denim mill Orta and the Italian brand Blue Blanket on one-of-a-kind products.

Levi’s

Levi’s is giving linen denim a chance for Spring 2025.

The brand recently launched Linen+ denim across its collections for men and women. Levi’s describes the fabric as soft, cloud-like and cool, adding that the cotton and linen blend offers “the authentic feel of denim with ultra-airy linen.” Most fabrics contain 15 to 18 percent linen.

Linen+ denim is available across Levi’s latest styles including the men’s 502 Taper, 511 Slim, 555 Relaxed, 505 Regular and the 568 Loose, a loose straight leg that stacks at the leg. A relaxed Trucker jacket and 468 Stay Loose short is also available. Washes span vintage khaki and ecru to dark indigo washes and black.

The women’s linen jean range features the XL Baggy Strait, Baggy Dad and the Baggy Carpenter. A jumpsuit, vest, shrunken jacket and slip dress are part of the collection as well as two short styles and two button-down shirts.
