Levi’s Drops Second Collaboration with ERL

On Thursday, Levi’s and ERL dropped their second collaboration of reworked denim.

The capsule collection combines Levi’s signature denim styles with ERL’s playful, retro aesthetic inspired by Venice, Calif.’s skate and surf culture.

Spanning a bootcut jean, vest, overall, dress and purse, it features various light washes that give the collection a sun-faded look and feel. Each style is finished with co-branded details and unique stitching.

Inspired by a ’70s Levi’s silhouette, the vest is washed out and triple lined with a shaggy sherpa finish at the bottom. Slightly long, the vest features burnished tin shanks, zigzag stitching on the back and side seams, and ERL embroidery on the bottom right front panel.

The dress in the collection boasts a line of shanks down the front. It has a straight hem, zigzag stitching at the side seams, inseam pockets on each side, and the ERL logo stamp on bottom.

The overall has a wide, baggy leg with pintuck side striping. The style is simplified with no front pocket and a tonal zig zag stitch on the center seam. ERL embroidery is stamped on the left leg and a hammer loop is placed on the right leg.

The bootcut jean combines ERL’s staple fit jean—looser at the knee, tighter up top—with the classic Levi’s 517 fit. Side seam slits make the jean flare out slightly. The jeans also have a distressed waistband and a Two-Horse Pull graphic printed in white in place of a traditional patch.

The purse, crafted with co-branded shanks, is designed to look like a 5-pocket jean.

Levi’s first teamed up with ERL founder Eli Russell Linnetz last fall with a 10-piece collection of sherpa-lined Trucker jackets, 501 jeans, low-rise flare jeans, miniskirts and more.

The latest Levi’s x ERL collection was photographed by Linnetz, and “brings to life the sun-kissed vibe of a Californian, Americana cast,” the brand stated.

The collection is available Levi.com, the Levi’s app, in select Levi’s stores and Dover Street Market.
