Kontoor Brands-owned Lee is stepping into footwear this summer.
The heritage brand collaborated with Crocs Inc.-owned Heydude to launch men’s and women’s footwear and matching apparel. Known for its casual upper materials and lightweight outsoles, Joe Broyles, Lee’s VP of global collaborations, said Heydude is “the ideal partner to bring a Lee denim-inspired shoe to market.”
“The brand’s popularity and focus on playful comfort resonates with our customer, and we’re excited to add tops and shorts—a full lifestyle approach—to this capsule,” he added.
The collection offers Heydude’s most popular women’s and men’s styles. The men’s Wally Lee shoes have railroad denim stripe uppers. The women’s Wendy Lee shoes come in a cream multi-print pattern. Both styles feature an exclusive illustrated graphic in the footbeds.
The apparel range includes men’s and women’s carpenter shorts with railroad blue stripes, a unisex tank featuring Lee’s iconic mascot Buddy Lee, a unisex T-shirt and a reversible bucket hat.
The collection retails for $25-$75 and is available on Amazon and Lee’s website. The footwear is also sold on Heydude’s website.
“Bringing two brands together, known for their iconic comfort and versatility, Lee’s rich denim heritage blends perfectly with Heydude’s relaxed attitude,” said Paul Nugent, Heydude SVP chief marketing officer. “The result is a unique collection that finds balance in standing out yet playing it cool without sacrificing the much-needed comfort our fans have grown to expect from Heydude.”
The brands tapped “Outer Banks” actor Chase Stokes to star in a campaign for the collection.
Collaborations are opening new doors for Lee, which has partnered with Diesel, Pull&Bear, Roaringwild, Schott NYC and more in the past year. Sister brand Wrangler launched footwear with Twisted X in 2020.
