Denim is trending for tax season, according to Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.
On Thursday, the tax preparation company announced the launch of Refund Jeans, a collection of limited edition jeans for men and women, featuring oversize pockets designed to hold large tax refunds. Jackson Hewit said the jeans “symbolize the optimism of the upcoming tax season.”
“We take tax season very seriously, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun,” said Kim Hudson, SVP and chief marketing officer at Jackson Hewitt Tax Services. “Refund Jeans are a playful reminder that when you file with Jackson Hewitt, our Tax Pros work hard so you get the biggest refund you deserve. If you are expecting a big refund, you might as well have the pockets to match.”
The jeans are available through a sweepstakes. From now through Feb. 11, eligible fans can enter for a chance to win Refund Jeans by following Jackson Hewitt on Instagram and engaging with select posts featuring the jeans. For four weeks, Jackson Hewitt will post Refund Jeans-related content on its Instagram account, and 25 winners will be selected each week via Instagram.
To qualify for the sweepstakes, Instagram followers must “like” the Refund Jeans post, comment and share what they would do with their biggest tax refund on the post, tag a friend and use hastags #BigRefundEnergy and #SweepsEntry.
This is not the first time a company outside of the denim sphere used a jeans sweepstakes to drum up interest in their products and services. Last year Irish dairy brand Kerrygold launched limited edition jeans with Native Denim for a St. Patrick’s Day contest.
