A new collaboration aims to simplify consumers’ dressing routine.
On Wednesday, Hudson Jeans and Rivet Utility launched a limited-edition capsule collection of men’s and women’s jumpsuits. The collection combines Hudson’s expertise in denim with Rivet Utility’s signature single-zip silhouette.
Daun Dees launched Rivet Utility in 2020 as a daily uniform that combines sportswear, workwear and fashion. The brand’s French Terry Maven jumpsuit landed on Oprah’s Favorite Things list two years later during peak demand for comfort.
The “Made in L.A.” label has embraced the city’s denim roots, however. Rivet Utility’s core collection spans cotton denim jumpsuits as well as stretch cotton twill. The one-pieces have been worn by Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mandy Moore, Miranda Kerr and more.
“Being in L.A., we are always on the lookout for local brands who have common values. When we met Daun, the Rivet Utility founder, there was an instant synergy. We knew we had to do something together and we are so glad we did,” Peggi Jewell, VP division head general manager, Hudson Jeans, told Rivet.
The design process was collaborative. “We came together on two things we both love—premium fabrics and designing elevated, one-of-a-kind pieces,” Jewell said. “Our designers Ricki Robinson, women’s senior designer, and Steffan Attardo, men’s design director, have an expertise in denim, which was new for the Rivet team, while we also took notes on some new details that go into making the perfect one-and-done silhouette. Daun and her team have an amazing work ethic, and the energy between both of our teams made the process fun.”
The collaboration marks Rivet Utility’s first time designing men’s one-pieces, though Jewell noted that the styles are versatile for both genders to wear. The men’s line offers the Outlaw, a wide-leg cargo jumpsuit and the Trooper, a ripstop one-piece available on grey and blue. Both styles feature Hudson’s Union Jack branding on the back.
Women’s styles include the Designer, an indigo balloon-sleeve bootcut jumpsuit with Hudson’s signature flap back pockets; the Collaborator, a black sleeveless relaxed straight coverall; and the Creator, a wide-leg indigo jumpsuit with a strapless sweetheart neckline.
The collection retails for $275-$455 and is available on both brands’ websites and select specialty stores. The men’s line is also available on Bloomingdales.com.
