Jeans proved a versatile staple at Paris Fashion Week Men’s and Paris Haute Couture Week, where attendees seemed split in their approach to denim.
On one side, classic straight-leg fits emerged as the default, refreshed in pale blue, mid-blue, and softly worn vintage washes. These jeans were styled with everything from broken-in tees and knits to front-row-ready feather-trimmed coats and Dior tweed blazers. Flare and bootcut silhouettes with clean washes signaled a more directional mood.
On the other, fashion week attendees stepped out in more artisanal designs. A pair of baggy jeans featured a generous number of back pockets on its back, front and down the legs. Another pair was constructed with various patches of blanket and check fabrics. Bold embroidered medallions decorated the legs of another pair.
Streaky washes and ombre effects emphasized the volume and movement of some baggy styles.
Charms and chains continued to be added for decoration. Strands of pearls and crystals added an opulent look to baggy jeans, while silver chains, stacked studded belts and braided belts worn around the thigh painted an edgier picture.
