Denim Première Vision is testing a new market for its premium trade show.
This week, Première Vision, announced the first edition of Denim Première Vision in Tokyo, taking place Sept 9–10, 2026, at Yoyogi National Stadium—First Gymnasium.
The GL Events-owned trade show will take place alongside Tranoï Tokyo, a ready-to-wear, accessories and lifestyle trade event, with a “deliberately selective format” to provide attendees access to a curated selection of approximately twenty international exhibitors from across the denim supply chain.
Exhibitors will include denim manufacturers, fabric producers, washing and finishing technology specialists, trims and accessories suppliers and companies with sustainable expertise and solutions.
Expected visitors include Japanese and international fashion brands, designers, product development teams, merchandisers, buyers, OEM and ODM partners, as well as specialists in textile innovation and sustainability.
Choosing Tokyo highlights how Japan’s selvedge denim and traditional indigo dyeing have evolved into global benchmarks for premium brands and designers.
Meanwhile, hosting Denim Première Vision in Tokyo reflects GL events Fashion Division’s ambition to strengthen connections between international denim players and Asian markets. It’s also an opportunity to create synergies between its two flagship brands, Première Vision and Tranoï.
“Since its creation, Denim Première Vision has supported the international denim community across various creative territories. With this special edition in Tokyo, we aim to create a new meeting point between key decision-makers in the industry and the particularly creative and dynamic Japanese fashion ecosystem,” said Florence Rousson, president of the executive board of Première Vision and CEO of the GL events Fashion Division.
The Tokyo event is the latest installment in Denim Première Vision’s traveling show format. Though recent editions have been held in Milan, Denim Première Vision events have previously been hosted in Paris, Barcelona, London and Berlin.
Denim Première Vision will continue to take place at Superstudio Più in Milan on May 20-21 and in the fall.
Denim trade show organizers are exploring new markets. Earlier this year, The Kingpins Show announced it will move its January 2027 show from New York City to Los Angeles to reconnect with the L.A. denim community and to avoid New York’s unpredictable winter weather.
