Top Mills for Low Minimum Orders

Whether you’re a new designer in search of just a few meters of fabric or you’re an established label wanting to test out a different cloth, the following mills are the best providers of low minimum orders for each and every fabric buyer—no threads attached.

Huddersfield Cloth

Huddersfield Cloth is located in West Yorkshire, England. A favorite of London’s Savile Row, Huddersfield Cloth produce authentic wool suiting fabrics, made entirely in-house. Designers create durable plain weaves and classic check and stripe patterns, which are then woven and dyed by specialists. The suit fabrics are a blend of traditional and cutting-edge production methods and bear the distinctive ‘Made in Huddersfield’ label on the woven selvedge.

For international clients, Huddersfield has obtained the rare certification for EC Preference Exports. This means that qualifying countries will pay no duty on import goods from Huddersfield. In terms of delivery, Huddersfield dispatch orders within 24 hours or within the next working day cycle.

Despite having the highest active bunch order rate in the country for its cloth, Huddersfield’s one meter minimum order makes it a go-to choice for smaller tailors simply wanting to make a one-off suit.

In partnership with Le Souk, be sure to shop Huddersfield Cloth’s Magdale collection—a range of dark green and black accented herringbone wool with country checks and combination weave herringbones.

Robert Noble

Scotland’s Robert Noble is rich in the nation’s wool textile history. Based in Peebles, all woven fabrics are manufactured and finished in-house using traditional processes. But modern machinery is used in the mill too, and Robert Noble’s team of technicians ensure a sincere balance between man and machine, overseeing every stage of production. After warping, weaving, mending and finishing the fabric, each piece of cloth is measured, weighed and folded onto boards, in accordance with the customer’s requirements.

Orders as small as 5 yards or 4.5 meters can be placed and the type of packaging and method of shipment required is at the client’s discretion. The goods will arrive with the final cloth measurement ordered and its weight, plus the weight and measurement of the bale or roll – to ensure superior accuracy.

Each season, the Robert Noble releases an original collection of fabrics tailored to current trends in men’s and women’s apparel. Linking up with Le Souk, check out the luxuriously sheeny wool, silk and linen weave. In nautical blue, this material is perfect for complete suits, or separate trousers and jackets.
