Trade
Cascale
Cascale, the multi-stakeholder organization formerly known as the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, has appointed Ying McGuire as chief executive officer.
Effective June 1, McGuire will succeed interim CEO Harsh Saini and follows former CEO Colin Browne, who stepped down in July 2025 after a year focused on stabilization and renewed strategic direction.
McGuire was appointed to lead the organization at a pivotal moment as it focuses on delivering clearer value for members and scaling collective action on climate, decent work and responsible sourcing, the organization said in a statement. Her priorities will include deeper engagement with members and partners, operational excellence and translating sustainability commitments into measurable outcomes.
She most recently served as CEO and president of the U.S. National Minority Supplier Development Council, where she led operational modernization and expanded engagement with corporate and policy stakeholders. McGuire previously held roles at Dell Technologies, overseeing global market expansion and supply chain initiatives across multiple regions, as well.
Retail
Target
With Michael Fiddelke now at the helm of Target as CEO, the household-name retail chain announced a slate of executive leadership changes to “strengthen merchandising authority and elevate the guest experience.”
Chief merchandising officer Lisa Roath steps into the chief operating officer role, expanding her remit across merchandising, supply chain and stores. At the same time, Cara Sylvester was appointed chief merchandising officer. The former chief guest experience officer will oversee product, assortment and design.
Also announced, chief commercial officer Rick Gomez is departing and Jill Sando, chief merchandising officer for apparel, accessories and home, is retiring; both will remain briefly to support the handoff as part of the transition.
Tractor Supply Company
Rural lifestyle retailer Tractor Supply Company has appointed Sonia Syngal as an independent member of its board of directors.
She brings 30-plus years of leadership and industry experience. Syngal most recently served as CEO of Gap Inc. from 2020 to 2022 and previously led Old Navy through a multiyear turnaround. She resigned in July, however, following a turbulent period marked by supply chain disturbances, inventory challenges and mounting losses.
With the addition of Syngal, Tractor Supply’s board of directors now consists of 10 members.
Brands
Designer Brands Inc.
Footwear destination Designer Brands has named Sheamus Toal executive vice president, chief financial officer and principal financial officer. Toal joins from The Children’s Place.
He most recently served as COO and CFO, overseeing finance and end-to-end operations for the multi-brand public retailer. He previously held CFO roles at Saatva and New York & Company—including a 12-year stint as CFO and a later turn as CEO—bringing deep experience guiding omnichannel retailers through restructurings, financings and growth transitions.
Interim principal financial officer Mark Haley, meanwhile, will return to his prior role as senior vice president, controller and principal accounting officer.
Logistics
Kenco
Third-party logistics provider Kenco has named Pal Narayanan chief digital and information officer to succeed the retiring Steve Hitchings.
Narayanan will also lead Kenco’s digital functions: overseeing its technological and analytical strategies as it scales its logistics operations. He joins from Geodis, where he served as executive vice president and chief information officer for the Americas since August 2022, according to LinkedIn, though he onboarded back in 2011, per Narayanan’s social networking profile. His earlier work at Direct General Insurance allegedly helped it expand from $400 million and 550 employees to $780 million and 1,200 employees.
