Shuffle Board: Metsä Names Biz Dev Director, Puma Taps VF Alum as Basketball VP

German sports giant Puma has appointed industry expert Archie McEachern as the vice president of its basketball business unit, effective Aug. 18. McEachern will be based in Boston and report to Maria Valdes, Puma’s chief product officer. He replaces Max Staiger, who left the company earlier this year. McEachern previously held international leadership roles in merchandising, product creation and sales at companies including Nike and VF Corporation.

Metsä Spring, the venture capital arm of Finnish forest industry firm Metsä Group, has named Anna-Kaisa Huttunen as director of business development. Her duties include leading the work to form the business and market entry plans for the group’s Kuura textile fiber. Huttunen has extensive experience in the textile industry, working in the development and management of international business since 2007, first in the textile rental business and, as of 2022, at a company specializing in textile fiber recycling.
