British Fashion Council

The British Fashion Council has appointed Clare Waight Keller to its executive board, effective March 11. Waight Keller is currently creative director at Uniqlo and previously held top creative roles at Chloé and Givenchy. She was named Uniqlo’s first creative director in 2023 following a collaboration with the brand.

The UK-based nonprofit also announced the immediate appointment of Kate Varah, executive director and co-CEO of the National Theatre, to its board. Varah previously led The Old Vic and has overseen organizational transformation and fundraising efforts at various English cultural institutions.

The appointments come as the BFC, under chief executive Laura Weir, continues to emphasize designer support and broader engagement with the UK’s creative industries.

Bare Necessities has named Salima Popatia president as the retailer accelerates its e-commerce strategy.

Popatia joins from Orveon Global, where she served as chief marketing and digital officer, overseeing brands including BareMinerals, Laura Mercier and Buxom. Her background also includes leadership roles at The Estée Lauder Companies, Stuart Weitzman and Luxottica, with a focus on scaling global e-commerce operations.

She will oversee day-to-day operations and commercial strategy, reporting to Isaac Dabah, CEO of parent company Delta Galil Industries.
