Adore Me Honors Curves by Staying Compliant

Adore Me has always been in support of curves. And now, with CommonShare, the lingerie brand is ahead of the curve—logistically speaking, at least.

The Victoria’s Secret-owned label has been using the New York retail technology firm’s AI- and data science-backed platform for ESG monitoring since last summer, when CommonShare joined Adore Me’s sustainability accelerator (AMSA). Taking that partnership a step further, the B Corp and digital developer are now deploying 100 products with real-time collaborative digital product passports (DPPs) with plans to expand to all products by the first quarter of 2025.

“We are really trying to put meaningful effort into rolling this out into our entire product assortment,” Christina Chang, Adore Me’s vice president of sustainability, told Sourcing Journal. “We’re not just creating this for the sake of selling a product. We’re not grading to sell; we’re measuring to improve.”

The digital tool rethinks how product information is shared—and validated—as it travels through the supply chain, resulting in greater transparency, sustainability and engagement. Leveraging data science, artificial intelligence and “strong partner networks,” CommonShare’s platform exists as a digital water cooler, so to speak, for ESG communications.

“By joining forces with CommonShare to introduce the digital product passport, we’re not just enhancing transparency for our customers,” Chang said. “We’re revolutionizing our approach to sustainability across the entire supply chain.”

At the core of the collaboration is CommonShare’s proprietary Collaborative ProductChain, which forms the foundation of the DPP.  This decentralized bill-of-materials (BOM) platform enables easy information giving (and taking) between all applicable stakeholders, ranging from brands and manufacturers to producers and suppliers. The platform provides real-time updates and customizable permissions, giving said stakeholders immediate and accurate access to relevant—and unified—data.

“This technology empowers us to provide unparalleled insights into product sourcing, manufacturing processes and environmental impact,” Chang said. “With upcoming EU regulations requiring more stringent sustainability reporting and transparency, the DPP ensures we’re ahead of the curve, providing our customers knowledge to fully understand the journey behind the products they love.”

CommonShare’s DPP solution also integrates with third-party life cycle assessment (LCA) providers, verifying LCAs as well as Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) data to maintain integrity and security for sustainable product claims, the Ever Dye partner said. Plus, manufacturers are encouraged to reuse “digital threads” (certifications irrelevant to individual brands) to streamline their compliance documentation.

“If a supplier has a certification that applies to another product—like Oeko-Tex—they can link that with that product, if they have a raw material that they use for us and that they also use for another customer,” Chang explained. “They’ve already done the work on uploading the information for that raw material, so it’s also to help them streamline the process for uploading information that’s not proprietary, but just a certification commonly linked across different customers.”

The decentralized BOM platform establishes links between different brands and suppliers and certification bodies, Chang continued. The decentralized nature of CommonShare is how CommonShare can scale.

“Our collaboration with Adore Me marks a pivotal moment in redefining compliance and transparency within the fashion industry,” said Martin Smith, CEO of CommonShare. “The Collaborative DPP empowers brands and manufacturers to work together in unprecedented ways, offering real-time, verified information to both consumers and third-party verifiers.”
