Shop Hudson Williams–Approved Dr. Scholl’s Kicks
Hudson Williams may have made his Fashion Week runway debut walking for Dsquared2, but when it comes to stepping into his day-to-day life, the “Heated Rivalry” actor is a comfort king through and through.
He was spotted on the set of a new film, “Apparatus,” wearing a pair of Dr. Scholl’s velcro sneakers. Yes, Dr. Scholl’s, the 120-year-old orthopedic footwear brand best known for its insoles, also makes comfy shoes… and they looked right at home with Williams’ latest look.
The shoes were pegged by eagle-eyed fashion watchers on the Instagram account Connor x Hudson Closet, dedicated to tracking outfits worn by Williams and his “Heated Rivalry” co–star Connor Storrie. Leave it to Williams to make dad shoes fashionable.
The social media page identified the shoes as Dr. Scholl’s “Decades” sneakers from Walmart, and while the steppers are no longer listed on the department store’s site, you can shop a very similar pair online for under $60. Walmart has the Dr. Scholl’s Omega Dual Strap Sneakers available in a black color akin to what Williams donned (and in a white shade too, with multiple sizes on offer).
Dr. Scholl’s Men’s Omega Dual Strap Sneakers
These Dr. Scholl’s walking shoes feature leather uppers with dual velcro strap closures and “Air Pillow” gel insoles for cushioning. Reviewers say they’re super lightweight, boasting a slightly wider width for extra comfort. The sneakers have chunky outsoles that hint at the still-relevant “dad shoe” trend, plus a contrasting logo mark on the side — just like the pair Williams was spotted in.
Amazon, meanwhile, also sells Dr. Scholl’s sneakers that mimic the ones Williams recently took for a spin. Dubbed the Brisk Dual Strap Sneakers, they have velcro closures and an all-black colorway like their Omega Dual Strap counterparts. Here, though, you’ll be getting mesh-based breathability and a closed outsole.

These men’s sneakers are also designed for your utmost comfort, coming with a gel insole and lightweight materials. They’re one of the best-reviewed Dr. Scholl’s picks on Amazon, flaunting a 4.5-star rating (out of five) from more than 6,500 verified shoppers. And they’re selling fast, with Amazon noting dozens of sales made in the last few days alone. Shoppers appreciate the kicks’ affordable price point and durability; there’s also no need to deal with unruly laces, since the shoes use a velcro closure.
While it’s not clear if Amazon’s latest uptick in sales is tied to Williams endorsing the shoe, it’s hard to deny the actor’s rising sartorial influence. After being lensed sitting front row at the Balenciaga fall 2026 show, the Canadian star was dressed by the Spanish fashion house for the Oscars. Shortly thereafter, he changed into a sheer Balenciaga look for Vanity Fair’s post-event party. Williams is similarly a favorite of Giorgio Armani, having attended the designer label’s pre-Oscars party at the Armani boutique on Rodeo Drive.
It’s just as unclear whether Williams was wearing Dr. Scholl’s sneakers while in character on the set of “Apparatus” — described as a “darkly comedic thriller” — or if he independently chose the shoes for that particular workday. Williams paired the velcro footwear with a green rain jacket from Wetskins, a Canadian brand.
Still, seeing the newly minted television (and soon-to-be movie) star rocking the comfort shoes and making them fashion-forward is enough to make us click “add to cart.” Shop the $59 shoes on Walmart or at Amazon today.
