Stella McCartney’s Fall 2025 runway show was marked by an ultra-sexy take on the office siren — “laptop to lap dance,” as the brand playfully put it. There were modern takes on the ’80s power suit — complete with shoulder pads, pinstripes, and glossy thigh-high boots — followed by oversized tailored coats and slinky party dresses to slip into post 9 to 5. Nestled amid the amplified take on day-to-night dressing was a slogan t-shirt collaboration with Jeff Koons that tied it all together with three cheeky words: Slippery When Wet.
The limited-edition t-shirt, which launched online today, features Koons’ Untitled (Girl with Dolphin and Monkey) artwork paired with McCartney’s “Slippery When Wet” slogan, a reference from her debut runway show in 2001. The end result? A slogan tee that marries fashion and art in the most tongue-in-cheek of ways.
This isn’t the first time McCartney has collaborated with Koons. The longtime friends previously partnered on a Rabbit necklace pendant in 2005, prints in the Summer 2006 collection, and a t-shirt for the McCartney A to Z Manifesto in 2020, which supported International Center for Missing & Exploited Children. And, according to the brand, the Slippery When Wet t-shirt is just the first release from a wider capsule collection between the two set to debut as part of the Spring 2006 collection in January.
This is just the latest in the high-fashion return of the very 2000s-coded slogan tee. Last year, Zendaya’s custom Loewe “I Told Ya” t-shirt from “Challengers” became one of the buzziest items of 2024, selling out quickly and inspiring a string of alternative dupes. This past season, Conner Ives’s “Protect the Dolls” t-shirt, in support of trans rights, went viral and made A-list waves when celebrities from Pedro Pascal to Charli XCX wore the design. Making runway statements, Willy Chavarria’s “How we love is who we are” tee, served as the finale look at the designer’s Paris runway show, while Luar’s Fall 2025 show featured a slogan tee emblazoned with the words “I talk shit about you in Spanish.”
Bringing an artful meets fashion take to the trend, the Stella McCartney x Jeff Koons limited-edition t-shirt is now available to shop for $475 — but if the year’s previous slogan tees are any indication, you’ll want to snag it before it inevitably sells out.
