Shop The Ritz-Carlton x Kilometre
The Ritz-Carlton knows its clientele intimately — evident not only in its state-of-the-art, tailored-to-you hospitality across over a hundred luxury hotels and resorts around the world but also in the fact that it’s well aware of guests’ desire to take a bit of the magic home with them after every stay. Now, they can, thanks to The Ritz-Carlton’s newest collaboration with Parisian accessories maker Kilometre.
Just like the hotel brand’s two-part partnership with Madrid-based menswear destination Late Checkout, which debuted in 2024, this one is an organic fit, as both The Ritz-Carlton and former fashion editor Alexandra Senes’ Kilometre are nothing if not detail-obsessed. The latter is known for hand-embroidered totes (called “Undercover Baskets”) that nod to popular vacation spots, from Positano and Bora Bora to Saint-Tropez and Hong Kong. Now, Kilometre is able to pay homage to The Ritz-Carlton’s most beloved, sun-soaked coastal resorts — Laguna Niguel, Santa Barbara, Amelia Island, and Key Biscayne, of course — and capture each one’s unique spirit vis-à-vis date palm leaves, wool, and timeless Moroccan weaving techniques (the circa-2015 label has deep ties to artisans in the country).
Shoppers are treated to a line of color-happy haulers that can be taken from the beach to the tiki bar and back again, or else sported in your own chilly city as a reminder of unforgettable memories made during PTO. While The Ritz-Carlton x Kilometre Undercover Baskets — all parrot, flamingo, sunset, and cocktail motifs; invigorating yet never-tacky hues; and intricate textures — clock in at 45 cm x 34 cm and have two handle length options, the Le Tube Baskets available for purchase are skinnier and more aligned with the proportions of a rolled-up towel. Both are apt choices for brightening your everyday ensembles and signaling to passerby your globetrotting tendencies.
“At The Ritz-Carlton, the most meaningful travel experiences are those that connect guests more deeply to place, culture, and community,” Jamie Hoffman, director of global marketing and partnerships at The Ritz-Carlton, said in a press release. “Our collaboration with Kilometre is an opportunity to tell that story through design, translating the spirit, color, and character of our resorts into pieces shaped by craftsmanship and sense of place. The collection captures the memory of the journey and allows the experience to stay with guests long after departure.”
Here, the stories behind the resorts’ Californian and Floridian coordinates aren’t told solely through handcrafted bags, though. These one-of-a-kind offerings are joined by a range of hand-spun bandanas, too: composed of Kilometre’s preferred khadi cotton fabric (sustainable, breathable, and growing softer and softer after every wash). “This isn’t your grandma’s floral print,” the French fashion house says of its regular bandana assortment — a sentiment that rings even truer in context of the collab’s outside-the-box embroidery overlaid on traditional paisley prints, alluding to The Ritz-Carlton’s universe (peep those regal-looking lions, sailboats, dashed lines as if on a treasure map, and other symbols of adventure). The best part? You can wear the bandanas as scarves, headbands, or tops, depending on setting and occasion.
Though these fashions don’t directly reference the four resorts in question, unlike their carryall counterparts, you’re still bound to feel the coastal je ne sais quoi deeply each time you layer a bandana over your head (or torso).
Imagine speeding down Highway 101 in a convertible, on your way to grab lunch at Marisella, The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara‘s onsite restaurant perched above the Pacific. The wind is whipping your face, the scent of the ocean is almost palpable, and you are wrapped in the crisp embrace of The Ritz-Carlton x Kilometre’s latest: looking every bit like Audrey Hepburn if Audrey Hepburn had the travel bug. This is the sensation the two brands were hoping to relay with their much-anticipated project, aiming to be there for every step and mile of your journey.
The 15-piece collection can be shopped when you drop anchor at The Ritz-Carlton’s award-winning Laguna Niguel, Santa Barbara, Amelia Island, and Key Biscayne outposts or online at The Ritz-Carlton Boutiques. Prices start at $198, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards Community Footprints, The Ritz-Carlton’s initiative benefitting local charities that focus on the environment, education, and social mobility.
