Patinya founder and designer Guitar Patinya introduced her line to the Los Angeles market by sending her premium, privé collection down the runway.
The pieces drew the admiration of the crowd, many of the garments garnering applause or a flurry of cell-phone snaps.
Patinya used Thai silks, lace and hand-sewn flowers for the collection. The opening piece was a white jumpsuit with cape detailing in the back, while the show closed with a white silk evening dress with a bodice and side panel details composed of some 15,000 hand-sewn flowers.
Among the presentation’s standouts was a forest green suit with black accented lapels, satin cropped trousers with matching blazer and maxi wrap dress with tuxedo detailing.
“It’s East-meets-West,” said Patinya, describing the collection. “I tried to do some detail from the Eastern style, but in a very Western shape. You can see every detail is very classic and very sleek, but I put a lot of details like the flowers.”
