In its fourth season, Tracy Feith and Winnie Beattie’s Warm collection continued its pursuit of the Seventies-vintage, surf culture-obsessed, cool girl on the go. “We started off thinking of the south of France and it took off to all our favorite vacation spots,” Beattie explained. Serape trims on floral boho tops, rope-belted cotton jumpers, Baja-striped shorts , floral muumuus and mixed-print kimono-dresses were some of the highlights.
“The thing is, everything can be dressed up if you throw on your Manolos,” Beattie said. For instance, a floral mid-length wrap dress looks great with flat slides and just as cool with “a pair of old Marc Jacobs heels.” What matters to the designers are the closely guarded details. “Most things have been washed multiple times to give them that ‘I’ve had this forever’ feel,” Feith noted. “We look at each trim, unexpected combinations.” Cool stuff indeed.
