A charming blend of Japanese and American elements was at the core of the Visvim spring collection. This season, Hiroki Nakamura worked a traditional light and breathable Japanese paper fabric, called washi, to craft a range of pieces cut in Western silhouettes. This included a safari jacket painted by hand, feminine full skirts and cuffed slim pants.
Elsewhere, Forties- and Fifties-inspired references gave a retro twist to hand-painted silk bombers and a girly high-waisted slipdress done in a colorful Japanese lantern pattern. Kimonolike jackets were presented in multiple variations, from a padded version in a natural dyed-bamboo print to a reversible style with rock ‘n’ roll embroideries. Once again, Nakamura managed to convey his signature comfortable-luxury style with effortless ease.
