“I never have an inspiration, per se,” admitted Marissa Webb backstage at her spring show. “It’s more about what feels right in the moment.” And what feels right to her is a calculated formula that just works — a frilly top and a slouchy pant, a sexy flirtatious dress, an Army jacket here and there — so each season, Webb expands on this premise.
She did offer a tad bit of newness for spring: her first handbags — black, small, a bit rock ‘n’ roll. “It felt natural to do them,” she said. They went with the looks and suited her clientele, so why not? Webb also offered several luxe suits in satin, almost pajamalike, and a trench version. Perhaps her girl is softening up.
