Freedom meets men’s wear just about summed up newcomer Claudia Li’s third collection. “Letting go, no inhibitions; we thought about taking guys’ clothes and changing them, wearing them some other way,” she explained.
The result: endless oversized shirting options with deconstructed sleeves, sashed around the waist or worn off the shoulder and gathered at the cuffs. Denim was also given the oversized and deconstructed treatment — a jacket, for example, featured a knitted, embroidered floral pattern and open sleeves, while a gold version had 3-D acrylic flowers hand-stitched throughout the bodice and sleeve.
The thing about talented young designers such as Li is that they can’t help but show their tricks and skills with eagerness — and yet somehow she managed to keep the looks approachable enough through minimal styling.
