Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk tried hard to show a cool, young spring collection for their three-year-old label Area, but too many gimmicks and tricky layering — which included lamé bubble tops paired with leggings and sheer lavender bloomers worn over a tiger- and dalmatian-print bikini that looked more like a diaper — were the unfortunate results. All the heeled bow loafers and mules, shoe leggings and sneakers with dalmatian organza bows certainly didn’t help.
