A finalist for the second LVMH Prize, Chinese designer Andrea Jiapei Li continued developing her aesthetic focused on sculpted silhouettes. A range of dresses and separates — all infused with a rigorous, minimal appeal — were cut in graphic silhouettes created from the combination of geometric shapes.
The edgy lineup, worked in solid tones, included a voluminous blue top with rounded hems, as well as flared pants decorated with contrasting piping and paired with a simple cotton blouse. Despite the fact that the collection was a tad repetitive, there was something intriguing about Jiapei Li’s experimental approach, which through a process of maturation might bring more brilliant results.
