The design team at Mackintosh paid homage to the label’s heritage while focusing on futuristic fabrics and treatments. New performance fabrics for spring included a lightweight waterproof nylon for a pinstripe hooded coat.
The label also expanded its denim range, introduced in January, with two new coat styles — a hooded jacket and a classic mac trench — done in dark Japanese selvage.
While classic prints including checks and paisleys were an ode to the past, the brand freshened the patterns and created a monochromatic check motif for a traditional raincoat in a double-faced cotton. A cape was treated with a Liberty paisley print while classic stripes were done up in a candy-stripe coloration on a rubberized mac or a nylon hooded coat.
