With practicality and purpose as his main objective, Neil Barrett served a volley of interchangeable separates in cool, minimalist black and white, his signature palette. The men’s wear veteran reworked the keffiyeh and camouflage patterns — used in his most recent men’s collection — as woven jacquards or as feminine prints on crease-free dresses and eco-friendly leather skirts.
Silhouettes, meanwhile, were dynamic and yet refined. To wit: Barrett chopped vertically into long dresses and laser-cut them to create either fringes or panels — or a dégradé version of both — to great effect. They looked surprisingly fresh and athletic with a pair of slouchy pants and trainers or when layered over a short skirt. And when styled with a pair of wide-legged jacquard trousers, the “fringed belts,” as Barrett described them, telegraphed cool chic.

Calling his approach “mathematical,” Barrett said the entire series of garments was finely tuned to fit one another in myriad combinations. It added up beautifully.
