One of the cool men’s brands to emerge from Tokyo in reason seasons, Patchy Cake Eater offered up an eclectic mix of satin-y varsity jackets, three-piece suits and variations on Bermuda shorts. The more casual portion of designer Shigeki Morino’s show worked like a charm. Strong exits included a long, military-inspired coat paired with cropped jeans and a short-sleeve, Western-style shirt worn with green patterned shorts. Some of the tailored items, however, could have used a bit more polish. The shoulders on a gray suit and an ivory coat, for example, looked rumpled.
