John Patrick’s spring collection for Organic underscored what he’s always done best: accessible, comfortable clothes with enormous visual appeal. Organdy T-shirts, cropped pullovers, easy bike and basketball shorts, full pants and cotton shirtdresses made for perfect summer fare. Most of the sheer organza lineup was casually tweaked with inventive, contrast layering that kept the R ratings at bay and gave the clothes a fresh spirit. A pair of navy nylon shorts were shown under a white organza version; shirtwaist dresses were layered, too, in navy and yellow. But it was too much of a good thing when a snug short skirt topped a sheer shirtdress.
