Naeem Khan’s spring lineup mixed new, playful looks with the classics for which he is best known: beautiful, if familiar, elaborately beaded kaftans and gowns in all shapes and sizes — from slender, bias-cut satin columns to outsize ballgowns, for example.
But the show’s surprises had a decidedly young and fresh appeal. Especially strong were the red, white and yellow T-shirt minidresses in floral or geometric caviar beads; sequined shorts or a little pleated satin skirt with a boldly colored, beaded T-shirt.
