Think blue, everywhere and at all times. Giorgio Armani made the point effectively in his Emporio Armani spring lineup, which almost exclusively riffed on the color in a variety of shades from cornflower to navy.
In the press conference between his two shows, the designer mused on the choice, noting how the color “vibrates in different ways compared with black, which is heavy and more definitive. Blue is softer and less dictatorial.”
He called the collection “Blue@,” the symbol possibly winking at the desired millennials demographic. Despite the narrow theme, the lineup was more youthful and sporty, as well as relatable, especially when stripped of any overly dramatic styling gimmicks.
A tailored top was teamed with baggy jeans, the cuffs in contrasting metallic, while a casual sweater was shown with shorts featuring a tuxedo stripe. Shiny high-top sneakers (naturally also in blue) added a street-y touch.
