Yasuko Furuta’s Toga label launched some 17 years ago in Japan, and its experimental yet accessible nature has since garnered quite a fan base.
The spring collection took inspiration from the abstract paintings of Serge Poliakoff. A feeling of lightness predominated in filmy, pleated skirts and half-skirts of organdy, gathered at the waist and then layered over pants. Some pieces were embellished with shards of mirror, including billowing jacquard trenchcoats.
