Evening dresses — Wakeley’s forte — were the stars of this show. There was a floor-length number in a shade of bold papaya with a train that billowed gently behind and a clementine-colored dress with chain mail details. Wakeley’s more neutral daywear — which included somber utilitarian kimono jackets — wasn’t nearly as inspiring.
