Co-creative directors Christopher Kane and Tammy Kane used the fall 2023 collection as a starting point. For that collection, the siblings drew on their experiences growing up near Glasgow and reinterpreted elements from everyday working-class life into brightly printed clothing with exaggerated proportions.
At the time, Christopher recalled stepping on the weeds that sprang from pavements; the pigs and chicks in the gardens; the butterflies; and the ruffles on barmaids’ skirts.

For Resort, the quotidian details were out in force, but there was a darker, more sophisticated mood to the collection.
The bow from a schoolgirl’s uniform was magnified and pinned to the front of an electric blue, strapless minidress, or transformed into a low-hanging bustle on a little black dress, transforming the mood from sober to sexy.
Colorful marabou fluff, which adorned the strap of a plastic dress; the edges of cutout knits; and the front a long and sheer black dress, recalled the trim on a saucy nylon negligee, circa 1975.
These clothes were certainly statement-makers, from the shiny gold pleated skirts and dresses, to the black lace and sequin slip dress, to the necklines draped in bright, shimmery folds of fabric.
They all recalled the sky at night – with an occasional meteorite shower – astronomical images that the young scientist inside Christopher refers to again and again.
