The Berlin-based house of Rianna + Nina is launching its first resort collection. Knowing its bright prints and bold colors, one might think that the label has tackled the season before, but while it has dipped its toes in the water with one or two swimwear pieces, 2023 brings a full line.
Designer Rianna Nektaria Kounou’s inclusive size range of swimwear comes in four styles and four colorways, all with her signature in-house motifs.
This season, Kounou went all-in with softer styles in light cottons and flowing silks as the canvas for her hand-painted prints in sea blues and corals — fitting as the collection is named “Mesogios,” the ancient Greek word for Mediterranean Sea. A new oversized beach tote completes the look and comes in a coordinating pattern in two colorways.
Caftans are accented with gold trim sourced from Marrakech, and robes in vintage jacquard are designed with lido deck-to-dinner in mind. Kounou has also added her first eveningwear, a gown in gold lamé twill with a coordinating cape and embellished belt.

The brand continues to expand in other categories. Kounou has created Murano glass necklaces as well as vintage coral pieces with Swarovski charms, while the home line sees the addition of cozy cashmere and wool blend blankets.
Kounou’s cheerful, summery designs are ideal for the season and should do well in the sunny locales and resorts where the brand has proven to be a hit.
