Rebecca Taylor’s “tomgirl,” as the designer likes to refer to her own style, just got the wardrobe of clothes she’s seeking for resort. “That time of year, women don’t really need clothes, they need to want clothes — so its more emotional,” the designer explained.
The challenge is to come up with styles that can be easily packed and worn in a cold climate — or a warm one. So what did Taylor offer? Great soft quilted jackets in a light blue or military green, beautiful paisley printed bohemian maxi dresses, lace tops with mesh sleeves, tweedy coats with unfinished edges and the perfect trousers with just the right amount of flare — literally. “They are almost like a sailor pant,” Taylor said. “They flare just slightly and open from the top.”
