Giambattista Valli’s beautiful resort collection could be likened to a floral explosion — irises, daisies and cherry blossoms came embroidered and printed onto bomber jackets, Mod minidresses and boxy, ladylike coats — but the intricacy of his patterns still felt controlled and precise.
The lineup’s romantic, ruffled dresses juxtaposed nicely against more graphic pieces, such as the Seventies-inspired metallic jacquard chevron pants that Valli welcomed back this season after debuting them for pre-fall, now also offered in a newer cropped and flared style. With his dresses styled over matching printed trousers, Valli made a case for a cool, unconventional evening look.
