Optical illusions, 3-D effects and color variations are Marco de Vincenzo’s staples, and he wasn’t shy about using them in his beautiful resort collection. The theme of polka dots repeatedly appeared in micro and macro variations throughout the lineup. These were embroidered on a silk top with a feminine bow at the neck that paired with a knee-length skirt on which fil coupé fringes created maxi two-toned dots, as well as with a straight-line jacquard coat punctuated by multicolor micro beads.
Polka dots were also embroidered and laminated on delicate tulle layered with printed silk for a fluid maxidress and a mini frock trimmed with a ruffle. Its girly attitude contrasted with a more masculine and rigorous feel of a graphic jacquard blazer.
For a fun dose of eccentricity, De Vincenzo’s cool, chubby fox-fur coat printed with a tiger motif revealed a vibrant, floral silk linen. Its pattern was also reproduced on a metallic leather pencil skirt matched with a knitted plissé top showing multicolor stripes.
