For the pre-fall season, Mônot designer Eli Mizrahi infused architectural elements, inspired by the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon, Portugal, into his continually sleek and sexy garments.
Mizrahi continued to offer enticing, body-hugging dresses and separates with sharp cutouts. For instance, a little black dress with circular cuts on the arms, legs and bodice, or a black gown with daring high-leg slit and sleek, curved V-neck. Architectural organza ruffles, inspired by the museum, added to the collection’s dramatic feel without overpowering the minimalist feel.
The look: Minimalist occasionwear with ample sex appeal.
Quote of note: “Inspiration wise, I speak Portuguese and I’m in the process of relocating to Europe, I’m in Lisbon and Paris. One of my favorite go-to places in Lisbon happens to be the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology. The original plan was to shoot my look book with the museum as my background — the architecture is where the inspiration came from for the ruffles — but then Lisbon went into lockdown, so we had to postpone and move it to New York,” Mizrahi said. “There’s also the introduction of what’s to come for the main collection in March, where we are showing, hopefully, a physical show in Paris.”
