Smith cut sportswear in clean, modern silhouettes that were far from basic and riffed on current trends. Prime examples were off-the-shoulder dresses with ruffled sleeves. Styled over trousers or sheer black organza culottes, the dresses took on a cool, androgynous attitude. A lavender fil coupé jacquard blouse with sheer, star-shaped cut-outs — the only pattern in the otherwise streamlined collection — added a welcome dose of energy.
