For pre-fall, Adam Lippes made subtle references to the work of abstract expressionist painter Clyfford Still via color and movement. A double-layer Chantilly lace dress with a fringed hem was a beautiful example of both.
There were touches of playfulness throughout the lineup in an oversize cotton jacquard jacket with a tiger print, and a ball skirt in a floral pattern conceived in collaboration with the New York-based florist Miho Kosuda. For evening, Lippes designed a series of featherweight silver dresses made from a silk Lurex blend. All of them were youthful and utterly cool, particularly the style featuring a finely pleated skirt and billowing sleeves.
