Marco de Vincenzo was feeling confident for pre-fall. “I’m probably any performance anxiety,” he said. “This is my second pre-fall collection and it’s already very different from the first. It’s more solid.” The lineup displayed more depth than previous outings was also structured in a more commercially savvy way.
There were wow-factor pieces, including a plissé dress embellished with a cascade of chiffon fringe worked into an enchanted forest motif, as well as a luxe leather bomber done in an artisanal intarsia of multicolor rhombuses. But the lineup was also rife with cool basics crafted from high-end fabrics and peppered with De Vincenzo’s imaginative elements and sense of color. Color-blocked silk dresses were enriched with lace and contrast linings, and a fun wool bomber jacket was embroidered with a fringed squirrel on the back.
