Marking its second showing at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, Brett Johnson paid homage to the state of his alma mater — Arizona. Inspired by the red rocks of Sedona, Ariz., the collection was designed for the young dandy traveling in the blistering desert heat.
“This is a continuation of fall 2016 where we journeyed to the northern region of Arizona,” said Johnson, surrounded by the cacti props that helped drive the message home.
Highlights included an olive vest paired with linen utility pants and a dusty salmon linen double-breasted blazer. There was also a double denim look — a jean jacket and chambray banded-collar shirt paired with Japanese denim pants that looked like something out of Paul Newman’s “Cool Hand Luke.”
