Ermanno Scervino mixed a flurry of inspirations for spring, including floral tapestry, his cat Mimmo (whose eye appeared as a motif on knitted tops) and the sailor stripe.
All together, it was rather overwhelming, but pulled apart the pieces exuded some commercial appeal. The colorfully striped slim-fit sweaters and monochrome track pants, for instance, were well done, both rendered in cashmere, while a series of pajama-inspired suits done up in silk jacquards would likely catch the eye of an Italian dandy.
This couldn’t be said of the decadent tapestry motif, which emerged as the fabric of choice on anything from blazers to shorts and slippers, or a series of canvas outerwear pieces boasting embroidered, Astrakhan-lookalike lapels.
