Given Pitti Uomo’s penchant for all things artisanal, Visvim fit right in. The American-Japanese label designed by Hiroki and Kelsi Nakamura staged a spirited show sprinkled with post-war Americana references.
Led by a troupe of entertaining swing dancers, the lineup’s Forties and Fifties vibe also came through via printed T-shirts and boxy midcalf pants. Throughout, the couple juggled American and Japanese style codes — often juxtaposed in one look — with ease and bravado. Cue a hand-painted kimono jacket layered over a leather perfecto and loose, belted pants. Native American motifs gave a knitted cardigan a playful air, while large cowboy hats and blue jeans blended in well with silk kimono-inspired varsity jackets. Arty outerwear came in denim and with full-on leopard prints.
